Description
Rebel horsemen with an independent streak, the Lancers have been known to ally themselves with Rogues and Bashkars when the oppressive Imperials overstep their authority. They claim to be descended from the famed Dragon Knights, and still hold the Dragonfang Necklace and the Golden Arm Band as potent symbols of their vanished race.
Trading
The Lancers have spears, which are very useful to a character who has M or H fight chits, as they are one of the longest weapons in the game. This makes them able to hit first on the first round of combat. The disadvantage is that they cannot attack when not alerted, so they are best used against single monsters or other characters.
Hiring
The Lancers' main advantage is their weapon length. They can attack before monsters in the first round of combat (even the dragon heads - but they will not do enough damage to a T dragon to be useful, unfortunately). Take care though, because they are quite fragile and are likely to cave in a stiff breeze. Expect to lose at least one Lancer in the average combat. The Lancers can be Followed, which will give you their Pony movement bonus.
Fighting
The Lancers' speed is what makes them hard to kill. They all have ponies, which gives each one an extra "hit point", but the Lancers themselves are only Light vulnerability. This means that they are vulnerable to multiple attack spells like Stones Fly.
