Eight Episodes Down
Up to Characters
Well, we're eight down now, and I was wondering what people were thinking about the game.
I mean, it's pretty clear that everyone's having some fun with the game. But is there anything you aren't so keen on? Something that you'd like to do with the game that I'm so far not doing? Something that I'm doing that you don't like? I'm pretty thick-skinned about it all, so feel free to criticise where appropriate.
For example, most of our recent games have been fairly short - only a couple of hours. I'd like to get in more longer games, perhaps the elusive Saturday-after-training sessions that were the original plan. I'd like to get more complex plotlines going that take longer to develop.
What are your thoughts?

I think it's a good idea, and we should organise food beforehand too, rather than as folk appear. Or at least make clear who is having and who isn't and who is bringing food. Like other social clubs do
Say nominate a different person each session to bring junk food, and a list of what folk don't like.

I'm up for longer games- and I do like the Saturday after training idea. I'm always happy to cook and bring food if I know in advance.
As far as plotline goes, as fun as the last few games have been I do feel that we have lost touch with the bigger metascape picture a bit (the whole Empire invasion thing) so would like to get back to a bit more of that.
Character development has been going pretty well but largely as a result of the bluebooking. I tend to find that the game sessions are very Relena heavy (perhaps inevitable in some situations since she does have to give the orders) but if the circumstances break up the party a bit more then other charcters may have a better chance to shine. Then I can pick on them for their decisions if they get knocked out!

About the empire invasion thing-
I do think there should be massive amounts of media about it. This is the future after all. Unless its dystopian with lots of oppression, conspiracy and news suppressions there should be hundreds of independent news sources covering all aspects of everything happening in the universe - and especially any major war. We are talking populations of reporters in the millions after all.
It would then be a different problem - not lack of information, but too much. No doubt the various militaries will also have branches of propganada and counter intelligence working to create convince false rumours and staged invasions.
