Captain Drake Kerns

Drake is the son of a famous admiral, Uther Kerns, who until he died commanded the 6th Fleet of the House of Defiance. Drake has inherited his headstrong nature, and his sense of duty. He is a proud, willful captain of the Paradroid who commands his crew with a floppy leather glove. The Shanask do not like him at all.

Drake fights in Marine armour, modified with d-stores for his heavy weapons. The Kerns family arms emblazons the chest plate. He is a crack shot with a blaster pistol, but doesn’t shy away from heavier arms when required.

Drake once survived being shot at by a mBari with a Disk Macrocannon with little more than scratches. He was not in his armour at the time. He then stole the macrocannon to include in his collection of heavy weapons.

Lord Sharris Taroo

Lord Sharris is a Zin-shee, trained by Dha as a medic. He vies with the Captain over leadership of the crew of the Paradroid. He is short-tempered and takes care of his own skin. Sometimes it appears that the crew of the Paradroid pay more respect to Lord Sharris than they do to the Captain.

Lord Sharris avoids combat whenever possible. When not possible he uses either a Screamer or a hypodermic full of tranquiliser. He has been known to give lethal injections to unconscious opponents.

Lord Sharris is also the team’s computer expert, although on occasion he has been known to jump up and down on his equipment when it fails him. He is also under instructions to never touch ship’s comms equipment.

Treesh Areeya

The second Zin-shee of the command crew, she grew up in squalor on a planet known for its heavy industry. After participating in a failed rebellion against the ruling noble class, she escaped the planet and trained as a pilot.

Like all female Zin-shee, Treesh is psychic. She is adept at reading the thoughts and motivations of others, a quality which has stood the team in good stead on occasion. In combat, she is the team’s sniper, backing off and using her Fang Rifle to take out targets one by one.

Urkaa-ra-Tok

The only Draca on the command crew, Tok is a cyberlord of considerable skill. He is also the ship’s chief engineer, a position which he fills with passable skill. His approach to engineering is a little rough, but it keeps the Paradroid going.

Tok wades into combat with enthusiasm. He wields a vibroblade and many cyber weapons. He is a little more thoughtful than other Draca, but he still keeps the Draca attitude of ‘hit it until it stops moving, then hit it again’.

Ezreal

(No picture available)

The most mysterious member of Team Fugazi was brought on board when their previous Astrogator defected from Dha with a powerful weapon. The Shanask’s presence in the team unsettles most, but is generally considered a good thing. Ezreal works with stealth and deception, acting as a spy and a scout.

However, when he is motivated to fight there is nothing that can stand against him. He has consummate skill with a Sorce saber, which he has demonstrated on several occasions. He tends to keep his skills with the Sorce under wraps.

Epimenides

Epimenides is the name of the artificial intelligence which maintains Team Fugazi’s ship, the Paradroid. The Paradroid was originally a merchant ship owned by House Hassa, but it disappeared in deep space and was written off the books as a loss. A year or so later, it was discovered by Team Fugazi, drifting with a cargo of deadly aliens, the horak and their minions. After clearing the Bridge and Reactor deck, the team flew it back to Dha where teams of Marines and Cyberlords eliminated the rest of the aliens from the ship.

The ship was refurbished, armed and given to Team Fugazi on assignment. When the team went on assignment to Vegra VII, the ship was temporarily drydocked for further refitting. Epimenides was installed at this time. The ship is now lightly armed and armoured, and possesses three ship’s boats. The Atlantic is simply a shuttle, with no extra armament or special features. The Iron Fist is an assault shuttle – heavily armoured and equipped with a cloaking device. The Velvet Glove is a research vessel, equipped with sophisticated scanning and scientific equipment.

Euripides

Euripides is the name that Lord Sharris gave to a strange lifeform that boarded the ship while they were in Aerolk space (see Treasure Hunt). Euripides was once a biological being, but centuries ago he and his race 'downloaded' their personalities into digital form. Now he is the last of his race.

He is capable of 'cloning' his personality and transferring it to other computer systems, which he can then control. The copy is independent and willful, and has been very handy to the team.

Other personalities of significance

Karla Krace

The previous Astrogator of the team was a member of the Warlock chapter of Dha, and Anthropos who had learned the secrets of the Sorce. When on assignment to the planet Aerris, she absconded with a powerful Sorce weapon and disappeared in the Paradroid’s original shuttle craft. The Warlock chapter are desparate to recover her and the weapon she took. She has been reported in the vicinity of the planet Velke.

Swordmaster Dalla De Foure

Dalla De Foure is an Imperial officer entrusted with overseeing the initial stages of the Empire’s invasion of Guildspace through Combine space. No few plans of hers have been thwarted personally by Drake Kerns, and she considers it a duty to find and eliminate him. Her most recent activity was to attempt to spread a deadly recreational drug through the industrial world of Spicer VII with the assistance of representatives of the Company. Drake and his team destroyed her processing plant.

Trilby McGaw

Trilby is a journalist with Sandburg’s Interstellar News Network, which spans known space. Until recently her primary assignment has been the zero-g hockey, but then Drake fell into her lap and her fortunes improved considerably. She accompanied Team Fugazi on a dangerous mission deep in Imperial space to sabotage a Hatchetship and reported it all to the network, with footage.

Allison Taylor

Drake met Allison on Aerris, and there was immediately a connection between them. Since then she has not seen him, although she attempted to meet with him once on Velke, but was captured and held for safekeeping by the corrupt government of that planet. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Tkk'rkk-t-krrtk't'klkk (also known as TK)

TK was an observer in Team Fugazi for a little while - a Kryll translator from the Dha Hive. TK is of the translator caste, and avoids combat where possible. After Philosophy Wars, TK was reassigned by Honoured Dha Queen.
